Massage FAQs

Why do I have to fill out medical paperwork for a massage?

We are committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of our clients throughout every service. Collecting your medical history allows our therapists to review relevant health information and identify any conditions or circumstances that may affect your treatment. This helps us make informed decisions and take appropriate precautions to minimize the risk of adverse reactions or outcomes during your service.

Its my first massage, what do I wear?

We are committed to ensuring that every client feels safe, comfortable, and respected throughout their service. Clients are welcome to undress only to the level that feels comfortable for them, whether that means remaining fully clothed or undressing as needed for the service.

Our therapists will always maintain the client’s privacy and dignity by using appropriate draping materials, including sheets and blankets, throughout the service. Proper draping will be used to ensure that clients remain appropriately covered and protected from unnecessary exposure, in accordance with applicable Alabama state laws and professional standards.

There are so many choices, I am not sure what to choose.

Choosing the right massage depends on your individual needs, comfort level, and wellness goals. If you are unsure which service is best for you, our therapists can help you select the most appropriate treatment based on your preferences and areas of concern.

  1. Swedish Massage

A relaxing, full-body massage using gentle to moderate pressure and flowing techniques. Swedish massage is an excellent choice for relaxation, stress reduction, and improving overall circulation. It is ideal for clients who prefer a soothing and restorative experience.

  1. Therapeutic Massage

A customized massage focused on addressing specific areas of tension, discomfort, or muscular tightness. Your therapist may incorporate a variety of techniques and pressure levels based on your individual needs. This is a great option if you have particular areas you would like your therapist to focus on.

  1. Deep Tissue Massage

A more focused massage that uses slower strokes and deeper, targeted pressure to address persistent muscle tension and tightness. This service is best suited for clients who prefer firmer pressure and are comfortable with a more intense therapeutic experience. Deep tissue massage should not be painful, and pressure can be adjusted throughout the service.

  1. Hot Stone Massage

A relaxing massage that incorporates the use of smooth, heated stones along with traditional massage techniques. The warmth of the stones can help promote relaxation and ease muscle tension. This is an excellent choice for clients looking for a deeply relaxing and comforting experience.

  1. Lymphatic Drainage Massage

A very gentle, specialized massage using light, rhythmic movements designed to encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid. This treatment is generally much lighter in pressure than traditional massage and is often chosen for relaxation and wellness purposes. Because lymphatic drainage may not be appropriate for everyone, clients with certain medical conditions should consult with their healthcare provider before receiving this service.

Still not sure which massage is right for you? Let us know what you are hoping to achieve from your visit—whether you are looking to relax, relieve muscle tension, address specific areas of discomfort, or simply enjoy a wellness experience—and our therapist can help guide you toward the best option.

Are your massage therapist male or female?

We employ both male and female licensed massage therapists who have undergone the appropriate background screening required by the state and our company. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and client care throughout every service, regardless of which therapist performs your treatment.

We understand that clients may have a preference regarding the gender of their therapist and will make every effort to accommodate requests for a male or female therapist whenever possible, based on therapist availability and scheduling.

This is my first massage, what should I expect?

Our therapists will take the time to explain the massage process and ensure you feel comfortable and informed throughout your appointment. We’ll begin with a brief consultation to discuss your wellness goals, any relevant medical conditions or allergies, areas of concern, and your preferred level of pressure.

Throughout the session, we encourage you to communicate any preferences or adjustments you may need so we can tailor the experience to your individual needs. Your comfort, privacy, and well-being are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a professional, personalized, and relaxing experience in a welcoming environment, with the utmost respect for your comfort and boundaries.

Am I expected to tip my service provider?

Gratuity is not required, but it is always appreciated as a way to recognize your therapist for exceptional service. If you feel your massage therapist provided you with a positive experience, you’re welcome to leave a tip at your discretion. Our priority is to provide every client with a professional, comfortable, and relaxing experience, regardless of whether gratuity is provided.

Is Prenatal massage safe?

Prenatal massage can be a safe and beneficial option for many expectant clients when performed by a properly trained therapist using appropriate techniques and positioning. Because every pregnancy is different, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before scheduling a prenatal massage, particularly if you have any pregnancy-related medical concerns or complications.

Our therapists will discuss your needs and comfort preferences before the session and will modify positioning and techniques as appropriate. Your safety, comfort, and well-being are always our highest priorities.

I am sick, should I still get my massage?

If you’re feeling unwell, we recommend rescheduling your massage appointment until you’re feeling better. This helps protect your health, as well as the health and well-being of our therapists and other clients.

If you have a fever, flu-like symptoms, a contagious illness, or are experiencing significant symptoms, please wait until you have fully recovered before returning for your appointment. We’re happy to help you find another appointment time that works for you.

Why have I been asked not to wear perfume or scents for a massage?

We ask that clients refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, or strongly scented products including THC before their massage to help maintain a comfortable environment for everyone.

Strong fragrances can be overwhelming and may trigger sensitivities, allergies, headaches, or respiratory discomfort for some clients and therapists. Keeping the environment fragrance-free allows us to provide a relaxing experience while being considerate of everyone’s comfort and well-being.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a comfortable, welcoming space for all of our guests.

Are your massage therapist licensed?

We employ only massage therapists who are properly licensed through the Alabama Massage Therapy Licensing Board, as required by Alabama law. All professional licenses are verified as part of our hiring process to ensure that our therapists meet the required licensing and professional standards.

For your peace of mind and transparency, our therapists’ professional licenses are displayed outside the treatment rooms and are available for clients to review. Our spa establishment license is also prominently displayed in our lobby.
